Questions

Claims, drying, sealers and paperwork

Plain answers, state-neutral. For anything about what a policy covers, ask your adjuster.

How soon can someone walk the rooms?

The line is answered around the clock, and the usual aim is a scope walk within 24 hours of getting an address and a contact. Weekends and holidays count. Your written scope sets the real date.

Do you work with my adjuster?

Yes. We send the written scope and photos to whoever you name, and we answer an adjuster's questions about a line. We don't decide what a policy covers and we can't promise how a carrier will treat a scope.

What is in the documentation packet?

A written scope by room, a dated photo log, a daily log, product data sheets, a certificate of insurance and a W-9. The packet page lists each one and when it arrives.

Can you start before drying is finished?

No. We start after your restoration firm or adjuster clears the area in writing. Paint over a damp or dirty surface fails, and the record shows we waited.

My house was built before 1978. Is there anything different?

Federal rules cover paid work that disturbs paint in homes and child-occupied buildings built before 1978. The firm's EPA number is under Credentials, and we ask the year the house was built before the scope walk. Smoke and fire repairs often disturb old paint, so tell us early.

What does it cost?

No prices appear on this site. Each job is a written scope with a line for every room and surface, so the number can be checked against the estimate. The scope walk is how we get to it.

Do you handle mold?

No. Mold remediation is a separate trade with its own rules. We paint after a remediation firm or an industrial hygienist has cleared the area in writing.

Why does smoke need a sealer before paint?

Smoke leaves odor and stains in the surface. Paint alone holds neither back, so an odor-blocking sealer and a stain-blocking primer go on first. Each is on a product data sheet in your packet.

Who moves the furniture and belongings?

Your restoration or pack-out firm does. We mask and protect what is left in the room, and we note anything already damaged.

How do you bill?

We invoice whoever you name in writing: an owner, a carrier or a restoration firm. Ask your adjuster how they pay vendors.

Do you match my existing colors?

Yes. We match color and sheen, and paint corner to corner so there is no patch to find. The match is checked in daylight and lamplight before handback.

What if you find more damage when a wall is opened?

We stop, photograph it and send a written change line to whoever you named before any more work happens.

What does the warranty cover?

Terms, limits and exclusions are in your written warranty. Ask for it with the scope.
